Electric two-wheeler producer TAILG recently launched its cutting-edge sodium-ion battery technology in China. The new battery technology provides impressive long-range capabilities, is resistant to low temperatures, and offers superior safety guarantees. TAILG’s luxury e-bikes will be the first to integrate this innovative technology, which will initially be available in China.

  • The sodium-ion battery technology can achieve ranges of 115 kilometers in temperatures below 0°C while maintaining a speed of 25km/h.
  • Compared to conventional lead-acid batteries, TAILG’s new battery can last five to seven times longer, exceeding 2,000 cycles.
  • The technology can also retain about 93% of its power capacity in temperatures as low as -20°C, making it best suited for winter use.
  • Its safety performance is above industry standards thanks to IPX7-grade waterproofing across the entire pack.

This innovative solution comes as the global electric two-wheeler market sees rapid growth of over 20% per year. However, range anxiety remains a significant stumbling block for industry advancement. TAILG’s sodium-ion battery solution marks a significant milestone in the sector, being the first company to feature sodium-ion batteries in electric two-wheelers. Besides, this move also shows TAILG’s strong commitment to long-range solutions.

The technology is being rolled out as part of a strategy to develop a comprehensive ecosystem that includes R&D, products, and marketing, giving TAILG a competitive edge in the sodium-ion battery market. This strategy coincides with the company’s ambitions to extend its global reach and establish itself as the world’s top brand.

TAILG, already recognized worldwide for its R&D and design centre, was named one of the global pioneers in long-range electric two-wheelers by the reputed growth strategy consulting firm Frost & Sullivan.

The company’s consistent enhancement of its long-range technology marks its entry into a new era of long-range electric two-wheelers. After previously pushing its capabilities from 50km to 75km per kilowatt-hour, the latest advancement now allows for 100km per kilowatt-hour.

In addition to being a global leader in long-range electric two-wheelers’, TAILG also collaborates with the United Nations Environment Programme on various global electric mobility projects and is the exclusive supplier of electric two-wheelers to the United Nations.
