Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has introduced its five core technologies for electric vehicles (EVs), as well as unveiling its first electric sedan, the Xiaomi SU7. The five core technologies include an E-Motor, Battery, Xiaomi Die-Casting, Xiaomi Pilot Autonomous Driving, and Smart Cabin. Xiaomi aims to redefine the technology of the automotive industry through the development of these foundational core technologies. The Xiaomi SU7 is positioned as a “full-size high-performance eco-technology sedan” and aims to push the boundaries of performance, ecosystem, and mobile smart space. The company’s entry into the automotive industry is seen as a significant move towards closing the loop of its Human x Car x Home smart ecosystem. Xiaomi plans to become one of the top five global automakers through 15 to 20 years of effort and a tenfold investment in research and development.
