AMD believes it now has the edge over NVIDIA when it comes to frame-generation technology. The company has introduced the driver-based Radeon Super Resolution (RSR) and AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF), which it believes surpasses NVIDIA’s offerings. With the HYPR-RX combo of RSR and AFMF, AMD’s technologies can be instantly enabled in hundreds of games. AMD claims that NVIDIA will need to either benefit from its open-source, cross-vendor solution or develop something similar. Although NVIDIA already has a driver-based solution called NVIDIA Image Scaling, it does not offer the same level of image quality and stability as game-specific integration.
