Hyperspace Technologies Limited has received a patent and trademarks for its blockchain-integrated contactless product authentication and verification system, called cipherCHIP tap2verify. Developed within the company’s research and development division, the system combines Near Field Communication (NFC) tags, Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), and blockchain technology to authenticate products. The system aims to provide an unprecedented level of security against identity theft, phishing, and social engineering attacks. The patent certificate was granted on 14 December 2023, while the trademark was granted on 20 October 2023.
Dr. Oluseyi Akindeinde, the lead inventor of the system, highlighted its potential to revolutionize product provenance and authentication. He stated that cipherCHIP tap2verify offers a groundbreaking solution to product authentication challenges by combining NFC tags, NFTs, and blockchain to create an unbreakable chain of trust from manufacturers to consumers.
